Project
LaxONE
The industrial workhorse of the Bota Systems lineup: 470 g, IP67-sealed, force ranges up to 4,000 N at 0.3 N resolution. Designed for medium-payload robots in production environments, where the sensor has to survive coolant, dust, and three-shift operation.
Product Design
Co-designed the LaxONE mechanical architecture: ISO 9409-1-50-4-M6 mounting flange, IP67 casing, 6-DOF IMU, and embedded signal processing in a 470 g package. Force ranges up to 4,000 N at 0.3 N resolution (EtherCAT variant).

Industrial Deployment
The LaxONE bolts directly onto Stäubli and comparable medium-payload industrial robots for assembly, sanding, polishing, and contact-weighing. The design survives coolant spray, airborne dust, and three-shift production cycles, and is CE-compliant with overload protection built into the sensing structure.

Challenges
- IP67 sealing adds mass and stiffness constraints that compete directly with measurement sensitivity. Every gasket and wall-thickness decision shifts the trade-off.
- Industrial customers expect plug-and-play compatibility with robots from different manufacturers, each with different flange specs and communication stacks.
Outcomes
- Deployed on production lines for robotic assembly, sanding, polishing, and contact-weighing across multiple industries.
- CE-compliant, overload-protected design adopted alongside Stäubli and other industrial robot platforms.
